Can anyone tell me the difference between NVIDIAS two graphics card lines the
200 series (GTX280 or GTX 260) and the 9 series line (9800 GTX or GTX+)?

It kind of looks like the 200 series is slower but has more video ram then
the 9800 series.

Just as a sidenote, I don't have a SLI motherboard so will not be running
SLI. I mostly run duel monitors and play World of Warcraft.

If money is not an option grab an NVIDIA 9800GX2. Watch your Power
supply Max Wattage though, in any high end video card upgrade, make sure
you have ample to spare over and above the stated minimum.

and of course all lists are open to interpretation.

No Crossfire setups listed here, but I've heard the best bang for your
buck you can get now a days are 2 ATi 4850's in Crossfire mode, but here
I am getting into a "whos dick is the biggest" arguement.

I have a 8800GT, love it.

To answer your original question.

The difference between the 9x00 series and the 2x0 series, is the 2x0
series is faster, and more expensive. Instead of calling their video
cards 10900's or 10840's or something, nVidia dropped the 10 off their
new cards, so now it's just 260 or 280 instead of 10260 or 10280

Good luck...

A GTX280 is much more powerful than a 9800GX2.

If money is not a problem, GTX 280 is the way to go.
