Does the HP7929 have a video card installed or do I need
to install one?

Assuming that this is an HP machine, the best thing would be to contact them
to assist you with your questions about what the computer came with hardware
wise. Every computer that I know of that you can buy from a vendor like HP
will come with some form of video card.

Should have come with an nVidia TNT 32mb graphics card. See:
