I'm looking for the very best video card for gameplay, any
ideas? Brands? I was thinking something from nvidia? but
I'm not sure what modle.. I'd like something at least 256
mgb, if not 256 is there anything higher? Also is it
possiple to overclock a 256 card? Right now I only have a
nvida TNT 64 mgb (Blahhh!!!)
Anyway thanks for any help and or comments.

Whats the rest of your system, you have to take that into account.

Best cards now Ati X800 Pro or Nvidia 6800GT.

Hi Shane,

Look over some of the benchmark for the cards out there
based on the games, or types of games you'll be playing:

Although overclocking is possible, since modern games
and video/system drivers have to be perfectly tuned to
perform as intended, I do *not* suggest you overclock. :-)

I would think that the ATI Radeon X800 XT would be a good choice ar
X800XT Platinum Edition or Nvidia GeForce 6800 Ultra. I would pick
the Platinum Edition if you could find it. I have one on order.

Buy the best card you can today for $150 (Radeon 9800pro
for example). In six months from now do the same thing
(it will likely be the 6600GT, which is faster than a
9800XT)<-- Don't forget to sell your 9800pro to offset the
cost, so even if you only get $50 bucks back for it, your
new card only cost $100.

Now look what you will have, versus the guy who plunks
down $300 for todays latest and greatest.

It just makes sense to buy today's midrange and have money
leftover to buy tommorow's midrange as well, since you
already know you will have to upgrade to run tommorow's
games.
