I'm searching for an adequate video card for my P4 2.4 (not HT) with 768
Meg RAM. It currently has the 128 Meg MX440 Geforce card that I want to put
in my sons PC (PIII 1.0), since the video card in his current PC doesn't
play Call of Duty.
I want to stay away from the MX line since MOHPA doesn't support that
chipset, not that this PC would be playing MOHPA that much if any, it would
just be nice to have the ability. What chipset would you suggest? I've
been looking at the 5200 and 5500 Geforce FX cards, but there are so many,
some with 64 bit memory and others with 128 bit memory. Then there is the
5700LE. I'd like to spend less the 100.00 total for this new card as it's
not a primary gaming PC. Radeon is fine as well but it appears from
research that maybe the 5200-5700 FX cards are more bang for the buck than
the comparable 9500 and 9600 series card of ATI.
Oh yeah, if nVidia is recommended, what manufacturer is a good one to
choose? I've read numerous tech support problems with PNY. How is eVGA,
Aopen, Gigabyte, etc?
Appreciate the help
