I've got a old DPXDW with a couple 2.4's, 2 gigs ram, and a Ti4400. Latest
purchase is 2 21" LCD panels and I'm considering going to DVI rather than the
current analog set-up at 3200 x 1200.

The problem is, I haven't been keeping up with hardware for the past year or
two and have no idea if any of the current crop of 4x compatible AGP cards
can support dual DVI at 3200 x 1600. Looking at the typical suppliers, I see
a lot of cards that look like they won't support the resolution I'd like.

The system is mostly used for number crunching tasks and office apps. No
games at all so 3D isn't an interest. I just like good, crisp display and am
willing to pay a reasonable amount.

I'd rather not go through the motherboard/cpu/memory upgrade right now so am
just looking at new video card possibilities.

Any good suggestions?

Thanks.

ATI FireGL X3 100-505097 Video Card-$715 cheapest I could find for your
needs.

Wow - thanks. I had just gotten to the point of learning that some
card's resolution was listed as "per display." Your recomendation
appears to be spot on. Thanks again.

As a follow-up, I found a Matrox card for a shade under $600 that looks like
it'll work: PH-A8X256. It appears to use DDR instead of the DDR3 on the ATI
card. ATI lists all the bells and whistles about their card while Matrox is
fairly generic. I'm guessing the Matrox will be a little light on hardware
based features but it'll probably meet my needs...

Well, installed the Matrox card today. So far the performance has been what
I expected. All the text is crystal clear and the contrast between whites
and greys is excellent. Overall, I'm pleased with the performance.
