Video Card Question - Recommendation

Don

I've seen a number of different companies that use nVidia or ATI
chipsets in their cards; i.e. Asus, BFG, EVGA, Galaxy, MSI, etc. Does
it really make any difference whose name is on the card? And if so,
What are the good ones, and which ones should I avoid? Also, what would
be your video card recommendations? I'm not a hard core gamer, but I do
play games from time to time. I do a lot of video editing and DVD
production. Thanks.

p.s. I'd like a video card that plays well with Viewsonic monitors
(VP2330wb) in DVI-D mode, i.e. not ATI.

I've been using BFG cards lately. They work great and have a lifetime
warranty.
