I have a video card Nvidia GeForce 6200 turbo. Yes I did a driver update and
windows hotfix. The problem I have is that when I play Halo2 it gives me a
option to run or close because my video card is not right . It shows this

The graphics hardware on this computer is not supported for use with Halo 2
for Windows Vista.

Your computer's graphics hardware information:

Video memory: 64 Megabytes (128 or higher required)
Supported pixel shader version: 3 (2 or higher required)
Supported vertex shader version: 3 (2 or higher required)

Halo 2 for Windows Vista is designed for computers running Microsoft Windows
Vista with an overall Windows Experience Index of 5 or higher.

my video card has 256mb of memory not 64mb.

does anyone have the same problem?

Thanks Jane. This tells me to read more when I purchase a video card.

This to me is one of several reasons why I hate Halo 2 PC, Some games can
adapt to systems with lower ram or ones that use system ram, and it'd be
nice if there was an option to just run the game.

In your case though you probably should poke around for something better.
the 7000 series is still a good choice, but you should really be looking for
an 8600 or an 8800 if you can find one you can afford. The 8000 series will
give you DirectX 10 compatibility and run games like Halo 2 quite nicely.

Your other options are the ATi 2x00HD series, and if you're desperate you
can try the nVidia 8500, but I'd go with 8600 if you can.

I'm assuming you have a PCI-Express slot, if not pick up a 7600, 7800, or
7900 nVidia Not sure they make the 8000 series in AGP.

Good luck,
A.
