If I want to capture video in the best quality mode it
takes about 6 gig of space for a 2 hour record time. The
2 hour is the maximum for bourning a dvd. My software
locks down when it gets to appox 4 gig of capture space.
How can you preventg this or fix so 2 hours best quality
can be captured.

Hi there,

The 4GB limit is a consequence of not using the NTFS file system. You will
need to change to NTFS if you want to go above that limit...

There are software packages that will basically render down your video so
that it will fit into a specific size, but you probably will not need that.

For example, 1 hour of video from my DV camera will produce an AVI file of
at least 12GB and quite often higher than that, however, when you feed that
file to a DVD creation program, that program will convert the file to MPEG
and as a result the file (s) will easily fit onto a DVD

See the Problem Solving Checklist on my website.

The limitations of MM2 and your computer include a 4 GB file size if your
hard drive is using the FAT32 file management system. The info tells you how
to check it.

And the best quality would be DV-AVI at about 12+ GB per hour, so a 2 hour
video at the best quality would be about 25 GB

I have the same problem but i am using NTFS on windows xp. How could this
happen? I can´t capture more than 4 GB.

Thanks.
