I'm new and this is my 1st attempt to capture video. I have a JVC Mini DV
camcorder and am trying to capture video using USB. On the video setting
page when I click "Next" it comes up with a box saying "an interface has too
many methods to fire events from", can somebody please explain what this
means and how do I fix it. Many thanks

The least you'll need is a USB driver for you camcorder, but much better
would be an IEEEE1396 (Firewire) connection.

That message usually comes up when trying to import MPEG2 video clips. Why
it is coming up during capture is the question. Is the camcorder a DVD
camcorder by chance?

Thanks Jim, I have ordered a Firewire connection off ebay today. Wojo I dont
think it is a DVD camcorder, it is a JVC GR-DX100 (uses mini DV cassettes).

Then no it isn't so the error message is a bit confusing.
The firewire connection is definitely a good idea, whether or not the
message goes away because of it remains to be seen but it is definitely the
best connection to use for capture.

My Firewire connection has arrived but unfortunately there is no firewire
socket on my PC! Any suggestions please?

Google Firewire card or IEEE1394 card and look around. You should find
one for under $15. Most of the lower end cards include a cable fo under
$20 for the pair. eBay is not the place to look for a bargain.

Thanks, have bought the firewire card and everything is working perfectly.
I've captured my 1st video and even added some titles! Just wanted to thank
you both for all your help, I'd still be tearing my hair out otherwise.
Cheers guys.

Thanks for the update, glad you got it working with firewire I wouldn't want
you tearing your hair out! :-)
