I just received an e-mail from someone who asked me to share his experience:

"I had real problems in capturing video, loads of dropped frames and high
pitched/chopping audio. I unexpectedly solved it by changing my firewire
input from my soundcard to the one on my motherboard. I think for some
reason the Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 was bottlenecking the input
flow....."

Early versions of the audigy came with non compliant drivers for the
ieee1394 port. It can be overcome by installing the latest drivers from
Creative... generally!!!! I used too use mine for about a year as it was
then the only front port..... so I'm lazy, but I know it :)

Hi Graham,

We have had others in here with the same problem and solution.....its the old
problem of standards not being standard at all.
