I have Sony Viao model VGC-RB34G with Windows Media Edition 2005. I have TV
tuner in back of system along with RCA hookup.

I want to transfer VHS tapes to dvd.

When I load WMM, it tells me a video capture device is not found. I am
unsure of what the problem is. Therefore, I have two questions.

1. How can I verify I have everything hooked up properly? I have been
unable to find a schematic / drawing showing the proper hookup.

2. What exact steps must I take to transfer the VHS tapes to my system in
order to burn them to a dvd?

Thanks for anybodys help!

Movie Maker does not work well if at all with analog capture. If your
computer came with the capture card it also, presumably, came with software
to use with it. I recommend using that software to capture and then use
Movie Maker for editing the video(s). Otherwise you would need to buy
additional hardware in order to convert the analog signal over to digital.
