video capture device error message

Can anyone please tell me why I am getting the "video capture device not
detected" message keeps coming up and of course, I cant "capture"/

Not from that amount of info.........

Try reading this page, test your equipment and if that doesn't show up a
faulty piece then come back with a list of your pc specs, camcorder make and
model, the cable you are using and the results of the testing you did.
