video capture and AMC

i want to try a video capture card which needs to be attached to an "AMC enabled video card". i have seen a pin array on cards that matches the cable that comes from the capture card. is this the "AMC" interface? i have seen cards with and without this pin array. if a card has this should i assume that it is "AMC enabled" ?
