When I start Windows XP, it seems to load properly up to
the point where the XP welcome screen and user icons are
displayed. As soon as I click on a user the screen
blanks. This also happens in safe mode. It is a
standard nvidia AGP pro card (I don't remember which one
but I've used it with no problem in other XP computers).
Any ideas?

I have the same problem, but I set it up without a
password, after the Xp pro loading screen it just goes
black, I can hear the startup sound, and some little help
bubbles coming up, seeing how it's still the first time it
was started up.

I formatted everything and reinstalled Milennium then
upgraded to xp again, still didn't work, so I formated
again and installed millenium, that's what I'm using now.

I've searched around and found two somewhat close links
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;318031&Product=winxp
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;810092&Product=winxp
When I install milenium I get no more than the lowest
resolution and 16 colours, then i reinstall the drivers
for my nvidia geforce 4 and I can get high res and high
colours, but, if I dont install it, I can get into XP with
the lowest res and colours. Then I installed the drivers
and whe i restarted I got the problem again. I think the
problem is that I didn't disable my old graphics card
after I installed the new one. I'm going to try and fix it
now.

I found a solution for now, when you're booting up, keep
pressing f8 and start in vga mode
