In preparing to sell my computer, I uninstalled a number of applications. I
now get an error message whenever I try and access the control panel from the
start up memu. It says "ViaVoice Options Error: Failed to load local
language module.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Why not just use the XP CD to reinstall the OS clean.

If I bought your used computer (or anybody else's used computer), the first
thing I would do with it would be to reinstall the operating system cleanly.
I would have no idea how the computer has been maintained, what has been
installed incorrectly, what is missing, what viruses and spyware there may
be, etc. I wouldn't want to live with somebody else's mistakes and problems,
possibility of kiddie porn, etc., and I wouldn't recommend that anyone else
do either.

So if you're going to sell the computer, I would either wipe the drive
completely, or just reinstall Windows cleanly.

Okay, I thought about doing this. I'm not sure how.

The laptop does not have a built in CD drive. So, how do I install it from
an external drive?

As correct as it is, doing a clean reinstall seems to be more of a hastle
than fixing this error. The buyer is coming in a half hour. Can someone
just tell me how to fix this problem?

:

Reinstall then uninstall it using the proper method. Check on with
ViaVoice tech support.

Got it off of another site. I eliminated:

c:\windows\system\setnote.cpl

Seems to work now. Thanks.
