Using another capture card will not improve the capture quality in this
case. A VHS tape can only be captured using analog, Firewire will not help
in this case.
That said, you should not see much quality degradation if you capture your
tape using a high-quality encoding profile. "Video for local playback (2.1
Mbps)" is the highest quality profile available in Movie Maker's Save Movie
Wizard. Note that more disk space is required for the higher quality
profiles.

During the capture of my VHS tapes a large loss of quality occurs. I am
using a ATI All in Wonder card for analog capture. Would I see better
results if I purchased a Canopus ADVC-100 box and install a Firewire card?
