I'm trying to install a Radeon 9200 graphics card (AGP)
and my pc is not recognizing it. The hardware wizard
prompts that the device cannot be installed, there was a
problem in the installation process, and the data is
invalid. When I check the control panel for the display
adapter, I get see the VGAsave. I know this is a windows
failsafe device and I'm not supposed to disable it but I
can't seem to figure out how to enable my graphics card.

Others have had this problem and I've looked up some
solutions but to no avail. If anyone has a "sure bet" to
this problem please respond. Also, I went to microsoft
for driver updates and it found one driver I needed to
update for my chipset but it fails to install.

Thoroughly confused,

Shawn

Shawn,
If your previous graphics card was onboard or PCI it is likely that you
need to update/install your AGP filter driver. If you already have the
latest AGP filter driver installed please send your setupapi.log file
located at c:\windows\setupapi.log to (e-mail address removed) this file can
be fairly large so right click on it -> send to -> compressed folder. Send
the newly created setupapi.zip and I will see if I can determine what is
causing your video card to fail.

If you are unsure about your AGP filter driver or where to download the
latest from please reply to this thread with your system or motherboard
make/model.
