I have Visa Premium & Windows ME and would like to link these two OS to the
one monitor, along with wireless keyboard & mouse using a vga switch. Can't
load Skype, or my Lexmark printer with Vista so the vga switch sounded like a
solution.
How can I find out which VGA switch Vista will "allow"?

A KVM (keyboard, video, monitor) is OS agnostic - the OS doesn't care
as long as it gets the inputs. However, some switches do not like
PS/2 to USB convertors on the input keyboard and mouse and don't pass
them on to the computer. You can get anyone that you like. BlackBox
makes excellent ones - they cost a little more but they can handle
disconnects and keep the computer on-line. They also handle higher
video rates then some. Once you get away from Black Box most are
pretty cheap but Belkin works okay. We avoid IO Gear as it hasn't
proved very reliable.

Thanx Brett.
Out of curriousity. I was thinking of switching back to XP as an os,
instead of Vista, but I was wondering about if XP would go the route of ME,
with no updates being available thru microsoft, or not for long.
The ONLY reason I need TWO systems is because of Skype & printer not working
with Vista.
What's your view?

I use Belkin, keyboard and monitor switch ok, but I need
separate PS2 mice for each system, otherwise it sometimes
loses the mouse. Then on the lost mouse system I have to
start Task Manager and select the shutdown/restart
option.
Easier to have the two mice.

Well, XP will be around a while longer. Dell and others are still
selling it and MS extended it's availability. In the Enterprise many
are going to stay with XP and skip Vista as there really isn't that
much of a business case for it to justity the pain.
