When I installed Windows XP Professional, it appeared to
install correctly. However, when it boots up the screen
will go black when the boot up reaches the desktop. I can
boot up in VGA Mode and get to the desktop at 640 X 800.
I checked to make sure the system recoginized and was
using the driver for my graphics video card. It said the
device was working properly. Can anyone help me with this
problem?

You almost certainly have to upgrade the graphics card
driver. But I'm surprised XP didn't have it.
