Vexing Outlook Address Book Problem

I am using Outlook 2000 on an XP OS.

Although I have removed and then added the OAB, logged off and exited and
restarted Outlook, I still receive the error message that begins with,"the
address list could not be displayed....."

I even tried a repair of Outlook 2000. Then I removed Outlook and
reinstalled. Still no luck. Does anyone have an idea of how I can get my
address book to work? It all was fine until I started a new .pst file and
imported my data into it.

I also tried creating a completely new .pst file and only added one
contact...but the error message was still there. I am stumped!

Did you try a new profile? :)

View, folder list if it's not already visible. right click on your contacts
folders and choose properties. Verify there is a check to use it as an
address book.

Go to tools, address book. open it's tools, options menu and remove all
contacts from the list and Add them back.

Never Mind! I finally fixed it by doing a system
restore. I had to back more than a week, but it worked
and I'm grateful.

Thanks for your advice, though. I'll hold onto it in case
the problem occurs again.
