I have a Sony Vaio VGN-S560P laptop. The vesmgr.exe background task
that controls the function keys is taking up 30-50% of the CPU and it
goes up and down... Even my mouse is getting jerky..

I tried to update my software and drivers on the Sony website, but
still...
I pretty much have to turn off this background task inorder to get any
decent work done.

Any tips on how to solve it besides terminating it?

Thanks

sorry I was gone a couple days.

start / run / msconfig

hit enter

click last tab which is startup, unclick if listed, you will have to
restart computer

or

rtclick MyComputer, Manage
Services and Applications

find it in Services
you might have to maximize the window
leftclick with your mouse will open any of these up
you can turn off or put something on automatic or manual

:)

No. that's optional.

rtclick MyComputer, Manage
Services and Applications

find it in Services
you might have to maximize the window

Or switch to Standard View
leftclick with your mouse will open any of these up
Left-Double-Click

you can turn off or put something on automatic or manual

Good Luck, Ayush.

Can I lower the process priority? How to do that?

Thanks
