Very wierd XP start up issue...

I just installed a new hardrive on my computer, a 120 gig in addition to the
80 gig hardrive I already use. The 80 gig is set as master and the 120 set as
slave. I started up the computer JUST fine the first couple of times, but the
third or fourth time, it started wierding out on me.

The monitor works just fine, it reads all the normal start up stuff (e.g.,
bios, graphics info, etc), and then it loads the windows loading screen. It
displays that, and it displays the disk check, but as it tries to load the
desktop, the moniter goes out and gives me the message "Monitor is in power
save mode, please activate using PC,". which I know is just a moniter
message.

Im really confused now... any help would be appreciated.
 
If I remember when I had this problem somehow your hibernate is set as on.
Try loading the OS in safe mode and see what happens. You do this by hitting
the f8 key as windows starts up. Then select safe mode with networking and
see if your video settings have been changed or if your power saving mode is
turned on.
