Ok, I want to reformat my computer but the dvd-drive isn't recognizing
the disk. However, when it boots up it does, although it wont read
some disks. It is recognized in bios also. Oh and when it boots XP it
says something bout the Primary and Secondary IDE Channels being
unable to be installed. I am soon gonna drive a new drive and XP
disk. IF any one can help I would appreciate it very much it.

BTW before it was BSODing and i was getting Multiple IRP errors and
IRQ errors.

It sounds like you have a resource conflict on the motherboard. Try to find
out if something added recently (sound card, maybe) is sharing an IRQ with
the mainboard IDE controllers. If you can't find anything, physically
remove all expansion cards except video card, then reinstall all the latest
drivers for the mainboard and test your DVD drive BEFORE adding any
expansion cards back in. -Dave
