After installing the M$ Anti spyware my PC has slowed
down. Also it doesn't pick up all the adware stuff that
other similar programs do.

A poll would be handy to see which Anti spyware product
people thought was best, e.g microsofts, adware, spybot etc

Any comments from anyone regarding the product that they
think is best

You are not the only one noticing a performance impact, but it isn't common.
Can you quantify it at all--does taskmgr show significant resources going to
the GC* services?

You are right, I have the same problem here.
Opening the File Manager took (as an example) 1 sec after
having installed the MS AntiSpyware (normaly it is about
instantaneous).
I went back to Lavasoft's Ad-Aware : I mentioned these
and other inconveniences in this forum and I got flamed
like hell.

Sorry you got flamed. Part of the purpose of a beta is to bring out the
bugs that are rare enough that they aren't necessarily seen in other
testing. There are definitely bugs, and a performance impact that is marked
is clearly one. Thanks for reporting it.

The gcasserv service at times takes up 20% of the CPU time
and thats when I notice performance problems. Just the
general running speed of my PC slowed down but when I un-
install the software my PC is fine again.

Thanks Stephen--that's definitely a significant impact.

I think if I saw that on my machine, I'd uninstall the beta, and re-test
when a further build is delivered.
