Very Slow to connect to the server

Have been using FP for years and never had a problem like this. Have FP 2003
on Win XP SP2. Web was being hosted on a Win 2000 server till couple of
months ago and had no problem connecting to the server and working online.
Since we have upgraded to a new server still running Win2000, I have a hard
time connecting to the server and working online. For example any Save As
takes a good 4 to 5 minutes! Have asked our admin to check and double check
every setting, now I am told I better work off line and FTP my files!
Re-installed FP and stil have the same issues, however, when I connect to
other servers I have no problems. Any ideas?

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm
and download FP Cleaner.
Run the functions that clear the Cache{.web} files and the FrontPage
Temporary files.

See if it makes a difference.

Ok.
Then you need to tell your admin to keep checking, because FrontPage uses the internet
connections settings created with / used by Internet Explorer.

If 4 webs work fine and number 5 doesn't, then it sure sounds like a "server issue" to me.

Hi Steve;
Thanks for your previous direction, I have passed on the instructions.
Meanhwile, I have noticed, that if I open say web 1, it takes a long time, if
I close FP and re-open the same web, it opens fast, now while web 1 open, I
open a second web say web 2, it takes a long time. But the second time web 2
is much faster and if I go back to web 1 now it becomes very slow. I have
never seen this in FP in all these years that I have used it off and on.
Server is running FP 2002 and I have FP 2002 on WIn XP.
Thanks

That is because FP is using the web cache file on the second open to assist it
- still sounds like a server response time error (or you connection)
