Very slow startup after lastest Mickeysoft update

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but since the latest
Mickeysoft auto update my laptop takes an age to get to the log in screen.
I get a black screen for ages before the log in screen appears. There is
some HD activity. Once loaded up the machine runs fine. I've not done
anything else as I noticed this on the first start after the update. It
takes at least a good minute or two for this black screen to go away and the
log in screen appear. I've done a virus scan but nothing shows up. The
machine runs fine once started.

changed. Power Options are a major pain in the butt and
useless for the most part, I have formatted mine to the
point that my Celeron XP Home and boot to desktop in 30
seconds or less. BIOS stuff, ask a coputer friend.
 
well, what was the last update? that you downloaded. you
can disable auto update through internet options. what is
running when you start up??
