Very Slow Recalculation or screen Refresh in Excel 2007

I have a co-worker who is experiencing VERY slow recalcuations on her
spreadsheets. She works with a lot of data and with lots of worksheets.

She has the problem with both new workbooks and workbooks started in Excel
2003.

The numbers in the cells disappear for a period of time and sometimes she
actually has to click into the cell for the numbers to appear again.

Any suggestions?

1. The graphics are much higher quality in 2007 and need a better graphics
card.
