Very slow program(s) starting 10 minutes minimum

Has anyone in Windows XP had problems with when you click
on a program to start it running and it takes up to 10
minutes to finally get it running? I have two computers
running Windows XP Pro and both have this problem? Has
anyone run into this and did you find a way to fix it?
 
Have just had the same problem and can't find help
either. See my post with the subject "Windows XP
Freezing" posted on the 22nd
