i am not that computer literate or friendly but i am having
major problems with my system. for almost a month now, my
computer programs have been responding very slowly. no
matter what i click on or program i try to use, it takes
forever it seems to come up on the screen. i have done the
updates from windows but i don't think any of those patches
were ones that would fix my problems.
example: i would click on outlook express, it takes a long
time for it open. the same with once i'm in the program, it
takes a while to for something to happen. every program is
responding like this. can you or someone advise me on what
to do?

1. Increase your memory to 512MB.

2. Defragment your hard drive.

if you're using winxp/win2000 and have got a svhost process running that
takes up about 90% of cpu capacity you should do a virus check with up to
date virus definitions.
