Hi,

I'm a newbie here in the forum and I have a problem that's gettin
me helpless in finding a solution or trace the problem.

The scenarion :

I have some particular documents that when I open it, it took me 1
minutes before I finally open the docs. But when I disconnected my LA
connection .. its opening in a Blink! (I mean, no problem at all).
This problem is not happenning in all the documents but only for
few. What seems to be my problem here? please help me..

The usual reason is that the document is attached to a template that has
been moved or deleted. When Word opens the document, it looks for the
attached template. If it has to search the entire network, it can look for a
long time. When you're disconnected, it gives up faster. Once you've got the
document open, either reattach it to the template in its new location (if
the template has been moved) or attach it to Normal.dot (making sure that
"Automatically update document styles" is *not* checked) or create a dummy
template with the name of the missing one and save it in the user templates
folder on your computer. When Word doesn't find the specified template, it
is using Normal.dot anyway, so if you're not seeing any problems with
formatting, it won't hurt to attach Normal.dot permanently.

To attach a different template, go to Tools | Templates and Add-ins, click
Attach... and browse for the desired template.
