Hi,

I have a very sick Small Business Server 2000.

The last modification I made to the server was to disable a user account.
Since then I have been unable to modify users properties, create new users
or generally make any changes to active directory.

It's almost as if the Global Catalog cannot be reached.

I have rebooted the server and the problem persists. Strangely there is
nothing to show in the event logs since the reboot except a number of
UserEnv errors stating
Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO The file must be present at
the location <>. (). Group Policy processing aborted.

What must I do?

Thanks,

Joe

To diagnose a sick patient, a doc usually needs specific data, such as heart
rate, BP, what meds you're on, or worse, blood samples, stool samples
(hmm...), etc.

To better help your SBS patient, please provide:

1. ipconfig /all
2. name of your AD DNS domain name (as it shows in ADUC)
3. Any errors in the event viewer (post the Event ID# and source)
4. netdiag /v /fix > c:\netdiag.txt (post the results from that file)
5. dcdiag /v /fix > c:\dcdiag.txt (post the results from that file too)

If you can't post that, I can understand. In that case, have a couple shots
of Crown Royal, followed by two beers and hope for the best in the morning.
