I have only had my pc for a month or so! I'm running an
amd athlon 2200 processor, 256 memory and and an 80g hard
drive! but the refresh rate on my monitor is so so slow!
all window movement is very jerky and it leaves bits of
the previous page when changing! Even when scrolling up
and down web pages its very jerky! I thought i could
check the driver settings for my monitor, so i used the
driver disk that came with the monitor,it gave me a user
guide for setting up yhe monitor driver but its for
windows 98 and half the stuff its telling me to do is not
applicable for xp! Please help its driving me mad!!!!!!

Hi,

I would suggest you to check the vedio card drivers.
Also, right click on desktop/property/setting/, click the
advance radio button, click trouble shooting and move the
hardware acceleration tab to the left. Also you can check
the refresh rate by clicking the monitor tab, I suggest
you to use the default setting.
Reboot and see what is the outcome.

Hope it helps.

Richard, go to the manufacturers website of the graphics card and monitor.
Get the WinXP updates.

Right click on the desktop and select Properties. From the Settings tab,
click on Advanced.

Look for the monitor tab and increase the screen refresh rate to say 85Mhz
