i install the 32bit version of Vista Business edition on my laptop and it
seems that some components of the tablet edition are installed automatically
(snippingtool in particular)...

i LIKE snippingtool and want it on my desktop but when you install on a
desktop, snippingtool isnt installed and i can find no way to add it. i
tried copying snippingtool.exe from the laptop but it doesnt run on the
desktop (must be another file missing). i found out that you can download a
package of tools form microsoft that contains snippingtool but this wont
install unless it detects tablet edition!!!

can someone figure out how to make this tool work on a desktop installation?

Control Panel>Programs and Features
look to the left>Turn Windows Features on or off>
scroll down a bit, and you'll see Tablet PC optional Components.

You can also install the Games from there. I don't think
Business comes with the Games installed.

Troy,

Glad you got this straightened out.

BTW, did you get any error messages?

It is in control panel, windows features. I believe it is apart of the
tablet pc functionality, which would explain why it wouldn't be on by
default on a desktop.

Oh, and one more thing... isn't tablet pc functionality not in business
edition? That would remove snipping tool. Not sure about that one, but
something to think about.
