Hello,

Is there a limit on length of a urls Internet Explorer 6 can handle?
I've tried to open a url with 3000 characters or so on Internet Explorer 6
and all the characters from 1800 position or so were discarded. By the way,
there were no problems on Netscape 7.2.

Thank you in advance,
Tzahi.

Hello,

On http://support.microsoft.com/?id=208427 it says "Maximum URL Length
Is
2,083 Characters in Internet Explorer", but this article doesn't apply
to
IE6. I assume it is true to IE6 as well. Is there any way to overcome
this
limit?

Thank you,
Tzahi.

Use services that reduce a URL's length.

http://snipurl.com
http://www.makeashorterlink.com
http://www.urlbee.com (this puts a spam banner frame at the top of the
redirected page)

These severely reduce the length of URLs but their servers must be up to
provide the redirect. If this is your web site with these ridiculously
long URLs, you'll need to fix your own pathing.
