Hello Folks,

I'm frustrated with Outlook 2003! How do I disable
Outlook 2003 from checking my email automatically each
time I start the darn program? Maybe I'm slow, but I
couldn't find the option.

Secondly, how do I delete some of the personal folders?
For instance, I do not want the 'search folder' option. I
don't want the 'Sent Items' folder. I don't want
the 'drafts' folder and nor do I want the 'Junk E-mail'
folder.

Thanks!

Pretty simple.
Tools and then options. Unclik the box that asks if you
want to chck automically when connected

DL

Tool -> Options ->Mail Setup Tab -> Send/Receive ->
Uncheck the option to "Send Immediately when Outlook
starts" . .Sometimes when you go into the Tool Menu you
will need to click the double down arrows at the bottom of
the menu to expand all available Tool Menu Options. ...

Look in Tools, Send/Receive groups to disable automatic checking. This will
also disable all automatic checks. if you only want to disable ones when OL
first starts, try the /nopollmail switch.

You can not get rid of the default folders. You can remove them from
Favorite Folders list - right click and Remove from Favorite Folders.
