VERY fustrating MS Anti-Spyware hang. PLEASE help ASAP.

Justin D.

I have tried everything to get this thing to get past a
point in the registry, but every single time, it absolutly
refuses to do anything at ALL past this registry key:

"HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/clsid/{CABCF5E7-0C79-4F1C-909D-B9CF68FED746}"

I have looked at the regedit in this one, it has NOTHING in
it, and it refuses to let me delete the key.

When the program hits this file, it does nothing else at
ALL, hangs there (the hourglass shows up and sits there
until I do something with it that will let it close out).
I've let it run overnight, and it did indeed still hang
there all night. it has now become accustomed to also
display a "low on virtural memory" warning every time it
hangs on this file.

I've tried to use anything I can to fix WHATEVER is so
wrong with this key so the anti-spyware tool can run
smoothly (run a few registry cleaners, do it in ALL forms
of safe mode, run other spyware programs befor hand,
ANYTHING I could do), and it STILL refuses to be of any help.

Furthermore, for one, I KNOW for a FACT this is my computer
only and not some beta glitch, because I seem to be the
only one with this problem (everyone else has never even
HEARD of this before, or has come forward with any real
solutions. Hell, I can't even find info of what the
registry key in question is even supposed to BE, Googling
it comes up with nothing at ALL). And secondly, this is
really becoming a problem because, before it hits this
registry key, it is able to pick up 80+ "signatures" of
maliciousness, and this glitch (or whatever it is) prevents
me from completing the scan.

Is there ANYONE at ALL that can provide me with ANY kind of
clear answer and solution to what this registry key is &
what it does, why it's causing all kinds of problems with
MS Anti-Spyware, and what I can do to fix this thing once
and for all? I've tried anything and I'm out of ideas.
PLEASE HELP!!

Hi There i think you are infected with a variant of
wintools,if its this then its common to have alot of
other adware/spyware installed with this so running a
scan in safe mode (tapping F8 after rebooting) might help
also running adaware or spybot and a online scan would be
advised

Download and run this fix tool from symantec and see if
it deletes this if its a different infection it will just
say its not found,I can post manual removal for this but
theres loads of possible entries and its best not going
the registry way unless its really needed

Download the Websearch Removal Tool

The tool can be found here:

http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxWebsch.exe

Run the Adware.Websearch Removal Tool (Twice if it finds
anything)

Run a full online system scan to detect any other
security risks on the computer.

Download the Hoster program to reset the hosts file after
removal

Hoster V1.4

Download the Hoster from here:

http://xsorbit26.com/users5/andymanchesta/index.php?
action=dlattach;topic=2654.0;id=285

Press 'Restore Original Hosts' and press 'OK'

Exit Program.

Wintool File names:

common.dll
IExploreSkins.exe
PIB.exe
QDow_AS2.dll
setupex.exe
TBPS.exe
toolbar.dll
WSG.exe
WSup.exe
WToolsA.exe
WToolsB.dll
WToolsS.exe
btiein.dll
websearch.exe

Double check the add/remove screen for these and remove
if found:

MSIETS
Search Toolbar
Web Search Toolbar
Win-Tools Easy Installer
TS Toolbar

Your problems could also be revealed using hijack this
but hopefully its this and the removal tool does its job
to save you alot of time
