I doubt seriously you will obtain a new DVD by
crying here. If the one you're referring to is
one sent to you by Microsoft, there is
information at the bottom of the email they sent
you with contact information.

I will, it was sent by Microsoft, and I'm not crying! It's a
shame, don't you think?

Maybe it's a good thing because of all the problems people are having. It's
a new file format so most of the Windows xp software will not work with it.

Quickbooks ,No
Office 2007 beta2 new install no, But Office xp will install ok
Symantec, No
Windows live onecare new install , no

Maybe some other programs may or maynot run.

Most of the software I've installed works fine.
Generally a new operating system requires an new antivirus so your issue
with Symantec is extremely old news.

I am sure I have heard reports of Office 2007 installing and running OK.
But even so, Beta on Beta is generally a bad idea and rarely if ever
supported by Microsoft.

Other programs may need to use the compatibility option.

It may be a "bad idea", but Microsoft sure does push it.
The icon on the Vista desktop "Getting Started" takes
you to:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview/start.mspx

"Download and install the 2007 Microsoft Office system beta if you haven't yet."

That is one of the first things mentioned in three different paragraphs.
Of course, they also make it easy by making "2007 Microsoft Office system beta" clickable.
Looks to me, Microsoft is pushing beta on beta.
