Vertical taskbar keeps resizing

I use the Windows taskbar at the left edge of the screen
(vertical). Each time I log off my computer, the taskbar
becomes narrower. If I log off and on multiple times, it
becomes very narrow (the width of an icon). This is very
annoying because I must resize the taskbar each time I log
on. It does the same problem when I put the taskbar at the
right edge of the screen.

Have you tried locking the TB? R-click in the bar and click on "Lock the
Taskbar".

Yes I tried and it didn't help. It doesn't matter if it's
locked or not. It keeps shrinking on logoff.

Finally, I found the source of the problem myself and I
want you to know it because I think it's a bug in Windows
XP.

It looks like the language bar doesn't work properly when
using the Windows XP theme. In particular, it brings the
problem that I experienced, that is: when using a
vertical taskbar, the width of the taskbar reduces each
time I logoff. To come to this conclusion, I tried these
different combinations:

- Using the Windows XP theme with the language bar
in the toolbar: the taskbar shrinks on logoff.
- Using the Windows XP theme without the language
bar in the toolbar: no problem.
- Using the Windows Classic theme with the language
bar in the toolbar: no problem.
- Using the Windows Classic theme without the
language bar in the toolbar: no problem.

Now that you know the source of the issue, I hope
Microsoft can resolve it as soon as possible. For the
time being, I'll simply use the language bar outside of
the taskbar to avoid the problem.
