Is there a list somewhere over the different versions of winword.exe and
what servicepacks or security updates they belong to?

Both for Word 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Not quite :-(
I need to get the different versions of winword.exe cos I have to install a
dll at my costumers and after a security patch(I think it was the one of 16
october 2002) my dll apparantly has to be compiled with the right version of
winword as the target system or it does not work anymore.

What kind of error is occurring? (And note that this question would be better
off in one of the word.vba newsgroups)

Compilation problems should only occur between major versions of Word, not
when a service pack or update is installed...

We use our dll for mailmerge and after the security patch (16th october)
both word 2000 and 2002 gives an automation error unless compiled on a pc
with that winword installed. I will now make an installation program
handling this so the right dll can be installed, for that purpose I need the
version of winword to check up against, therefor I could use a list over
winword.exe versions :-)

I think what you need to do is check the Registry, under
HKCR/Word.Application/CurVer is probably the place to start...

I have found that and can absolutely use that, thanks.
