Lately, for the past couple of weeks, whenever I update my Norton anti virus
2002, my firewall asks me if I want to connect to Verisign first and if I
don't.....norton doesn't even come up.

Never needed to do this before.....am I alright?

Thank you.

this is since the 7th Jan when there was a problem with the security
certificate for Norton and is nothing to worry about, it is just
checking the certificate is up to date. Tell it to connect and to
always use this action.

What Taff stated plus....
You can uncheck "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"

Start --. settings --> control panel --> internet options --> advanced tab --> Security
Uncheck - "Check for publisher's certificate revocation"

what interesting advice... so people who are having troubles with NAV
should hobble some of the checks and balances in the PKI system in
order to avoid seeing that 'problem' in the future...

seems to me that's asking for trouble down the line...
