Here's a strange one. This PC has XP Pro & SP2 installed, with all the
recommended updates. When a .mht file which was saved by Internet Explorer
is viewed in Wordpad, so that the code shows, it says that it was saved by
Internet Explorer 5. Is this a glitch? I thought IE6 came with XP Pro (&
SP2 if relevant).
I'm assuming here that IE6 is automatically better than IE5. Help!!

IE6 saves .mht files with the From: line as Internet Explorer 5 (at least
it does on my PC). It's possible that the .mht save routine has a hardcoded
version line, possibly deliberately left to ensure backwards compatibility
with IE5 if the .mht file format was not changed.

I concur with Dan's post. Same thing happens here - WinXP Pro SP-2, IE 6
SP-2.
Probably something overlooked in the .dll file that handles this.
