verificating..that a website..

hi...
i just would like to know...how a website...that offers a
service...is not a fake...and they will just steal your
credit card number.... and make shoppings withouth..your
consent.

is there a way to know that?... is there a service..that
supervises...the urls?... so i can tell that website..has
a long time of service....and it wasnt created recently?

fyi i am not talking about websites..with contents only
for adults...
