Go to control panel and click on the 'system' icon. At the bottom of the
system window you should see a section marked 'Windows Activation'. If your
system has been activated correctly you should see the words 'Windows is
activated'

When you right click on the desktop in Vista you see the "personalize"

option in place of "properties" as seen with XP.

If you use LInux you do not have to put up with Microsoft Genuine
Disadvantage.

There are a number of ways of accessing the information you want, Control
Panel>System is the one I use. Right clicking on the desktop does not
provide a 'properties' option. Instead the 'personalize' option appears
giving you access to ways of modifying appearance and sound.

You don't have to agree with an artist's opinion
to appreciate the art with which he expresses it.

Hi,

How do I verify Vista is properly activated?

Right-click Computer > Properties.

And get out of that crappy EggheadCafe and point your newsreader to:
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general
where you do not have to be a ' member' of anything to post or reply to posts.
