Here's my attempt at a new type of note program. Well, it's new to me
anyway. :)

Here's the FileID.DIZ:

"VectorNotes is like a simple "search engine" for searching a freeform text
database that you create. Use it like Notepad to store text clips, URL's,
phone numbers, and addresses. Use it like Google(c) to search for a
keyword."

Sorry, all I have is a direct link, but it's a tiny download at 235KB.

Feedback here or back channel is welcome.

Oh, and no complaints are necessary on the icon. I hate it too. :)

Where's the link ? :o)

http://webpages.charter.net/bobad/VectorNotes.zip

I've downloaded this 'VectorNotes.zip' twice and each time when attempting
to extract the message pops up that it is not a correct zip file. I used
ZipGenius 5 as well as BigSpeedzipper (an older extractor software) It
sounds like a handy thing to use with a lot of text files.

I confirm: the archive is corrupted.
Bob, we're waiting for another zip... :)

Hi Rose,

At this time, it only works with its own file, "VectorNotes.TXT". That may
change in later betas.

That's okay(working with its own file). I was willing to do copy paste and
reorganize a long list of assorted text files just based on the facility to
search. Collecting a few text files is okay but when it gets to be a LONG
list then some kind of management is necessary. I started using one of those
tree styled things (keynote, treepad and TreeDbnotes) and that works too.
Its still a copy, paste, organize situation.

__________
Did you upload it to
http://webpages.charter.net/bobad/VectorNotes.zip ? and did it change from
240K to 483K?

Hovering the mouse over the extracted .exe file indicates there are 4 files.
Zipgenius did display those files after reporting there was an error.
I should have inquired in the first place if it is created to run on Win Xp
for eventually I did get the 483k zip to extract but clicking on the .exe
file produced a quick flash of a DOS dialogue box and then nothing.....well,
not quite nothing...WindowsXp Explorer had a hiccup and had to shut down so
I looked at the property sheet of the vectornotes.exe and it appears to be a
DOS or preXp type file.
What is the expected view when vectornotes loads....something similar to
Notepad or is it a Dos dialogue box?

I'm still getting a corrupted file, Bob.

I d/l ed after this post and again just now.

Power Archiver says there's a CRC error, if that helps

Try again Mike. I zipped it with yet another archiver and U/L it with yet
another FTP program.

When you build the archive are you able to open it?

Sure. No problems on this end.

I can download it and unzip it just fine.

I'll keep digging.
