I am running MS Outlook 2003. When I export a contact to a vcf file, it is
not retaining the same phone number defaults. I created a contact in Outlook
with three number, Business, Primary, and Business Fax. When I export the
contact to a vcf file, the phone fields default to Business, Home, and
Business Fax. The data appears to export correctly, the vcf just reports the
Home (blank) number instead of the Primary number. I tried this using
Business 2 as the other phone number with the same results.

I'm not sure if there is a server default that is affecting this. I have
not gotten a clear response from my network guy.

Any assistance is appreciated.

Thank you.

There are phone number within the contact record that are not supported in
the export to vCard. The mapping is as follows:

Outlook vCard
Assistant None
Business TEL:WORK:VOICE
Business 2 TEL:WORK:VOICE
Business Fax TEL:WORK:FAX
Callback None
Car TEL:CAR:VOICE
Company None
Home TEL:HOME:VOICE
Home 2 TEL:HOME
Home Fax TEL:HOME:FAX
ISDN TEL:ISDN
Mobile TEL:CELL:VOICE
Other: TEL:VOICE
Other Fax None
Pager TEL:PAGER:VOICE
Primary TEL:PREF
Radio None
Telex EMAIL:TLX
TTY/TDD None

When you exported, since you included no Home phone in the contact record,
there wouldn't be a TEL:HOME:VOICE statement in the vcf file. There should,
however, have been a TEL:PREF, since you defined a Primary number in the
contact.
