I have WindowsXP - how can I play VCD's on my Windows
Media Player ? Nothing seems to work.

Thanks

do u get any error messages or anything? try downloading WinDVD or PowerDVD
if your VCD has menus or still pictures.

If you just want to view the video contained in the VCD
just drag the .DAT file from the MPEGAV folder to your
desktop or any location you choose then rename the
files .DAT extension to .MPG and double click, but if you
want to experience the VCD with any menus it may have
tyou will need a software DVD player such as those
mentioned by Chris, HTH Dave.

I could be wrong but I seem to have luck with a program
called "easy VCD" it changes and encodes DVD's to VCD and
MPEG format. If your starting from a VCD format then make
sure your drive is compatible with VCD (which keep in
mind is a CDR as well) but this might not be what your
looking for because I've never started from this format.
