How does a vCard file differ from a standard Contact file?

I've noticed that a vCard is much smaller in file size than a normal Contact
file so I am wondering what data is removed. More or less, my question is:
Which contact file is better to send (in terms of providing the most
information to the receiving party)?

A vCard file is a text file and contains data from only a limited number of fields. You can open it in Notepad to see the details.

If both parties use Outlook, then for best results, create an RTF format message and insert the Outlook item as an attachment.
