I have attempted to remotely access the SBS2003 desktop from across
the Internet behind a Linksys BEFSR41 router with firmware dated July
2003. I can connect to the Web site and access email, but I'm unable
to connect to the Server Desktop. I continually recieve the "VBScript:
Remote desktop Disconnected" message prior to connection. I have
pretty much eliminated any security on the Linksys box by putting my
PC into the DMZ and even with that, Disabling the Block WAN requests
and using Port Forwarding, Triggering, and the Upnp features to direct
80, 443, 3389, 4125(saw it somewhere) directly to my PC. I've even
used different PCs - one with 98 one with 2000 and one with XP. The
next thing will be to disconnect the Linksys and direct connect to the
cable modem and get the public IP on my unprotected test machine. Only
a couple things left:1.I'm missing something with SBS2003 security. 2.
Nat to Nat transversal is the problem. 3. My ISP is somehow preventing
the inbound traffic.
Any other ideas?
