B
Baindamaged
I managed to mess up my brand new computer in record time. After
loading Microsoft office I tried to load Mcafee virus protection. Since
Norton was running at the time it seems the two duked it out and my
computer lost. After some scary times (freezing, blue screen of death
etc.) I managed to do a system restore to a date before the software
load. When I reloaded office, Outlook wouldn't work. Came up with -
"Failed to register a VB Script DLL. Reinstall or run Regsvr32.exe
Vbscript.dll to self register. The key 'Display name' is either
missing or has an incorrect value. [File C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office 10\forms\1033\SECREC(2).CFG, Section Description]".
I've tried reloading office after uninstall.(A few times)
Changing vbscript.dll to vbscript.dll.old and doing a repair.(No)
Doing a run regsvr32.exe vbscrit.dll (Said it worked- it didn't)
Tried some software from another group- (computer blocked it.)
I've seen this error in lots of places but never seen anything to fix
the problem. Sorry so longwinded but lots of data to pass on. So I'd
like to say, "HELP!!!"
