Any ideas as to how Norton Antivirus 2003 Professional Edition, that has
every live update faithfully on board, including the virus definition to
this, cannot deal with it and offers no solution just plenty of messages
telling me my PC has managed to become infected.
Any help especially on removing the virus will be very greatfully received.
TIA

This virus makes an entry in the system registry and will spread again
even if your AV apparently removes or cleans all infected files. Trend
Micro has a system cleaner for free download. They call it the Trend
Micro System Cleaner (TSC). It's a standalone tool consisting of an
executable and a virus pattern file. It doesn't need installing. Just
download, unzip and run it. It takes just a few seconds to clean the
registry and creates a log file in the directory you ran it from. It
will certainly get rid of VBS_Redlof.
